New York University – Summer Undergraduate Research Program in Neural Science
10-week summer program funded by the NSF. It is not for pre-meds. It is pre-PhD. This program is designed to foster entry into a Neuroscience research-centered career. Each student conducts a research project under the direction of his or her faculty or grad student mentor. The students are involved in all phases of the research process from experimental design to data analysis and communication of results. Travel, housing, and stipend provided.

State University New York, Potsdam – SUNY Potsdam/Clarkson REU in Mathematics
8-week program where students will work in groups of three or four with a faculty advisor from SUNY Potsdam or Clarkson University. Students work on an original mathematics problem. Travel, housing, and stipend provided.

Hunter College – Summer Program for Undergraduate Research
The goal of the program is to train and encourage undergraduate students to pursue graduate study in Biomedical research. The Gene Center has faculty researchers from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Biopsychology. Students of minority groups under-represented in Science are especially encouraged to apply. Travel, housing, and stipend provided.

Institute of Ecosystem Studies (IES) – Research Experiences for Undergraduate at IES
12-week program aimed to help students understand research so they can make good career decisions. The program emphasizes the community nature of the scientific enterprise. Participants design and complete their own research projects, consult with other scientists, present their plans for critique, and then speak in our annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, and write a paper for an online Undergraduate Ecology Research Reports publication. Travel, housing, and stipend provided.

New York State Department of Health – Summer Research in Molecular and Cellular Biosciences
10-week program where students will do basic research in cellular and molecular sciences at the Wadsworth Center, the biomedical and environmental science institute of the new York State Department of Health, located in Albany, NY. Research areas include Structural Biology, Gene Regulation, Protein Biochemistry, Immunology, Neurobiology, and Virology. Travel, housing, and stipend provided.

Weill Medical College of Cornell University – Gateways to the Laboratory Program
10 week intensive journey of learning about the challenging and gratifying road of becoming a physician-scientist. This summer program is for underrepresented minority and disadvantaged college students who wish to pursue the combined MD-PhD degree. While we’ve “trained” other MD-PhD Programs over the years in running such a successful summer program, to this day, we are the only such program which focuses on freshman and sophomore college students. Stipend and travel allowance provided.

Weill Medical College of Cornell University – Summer Research Program for Under-served College Students
10-week program open to students who have excelled in their sophomore or junior years in college. It is an internship program for training under-served college students in the biomedical sciences. Interns are given hands-on experience in a biomedical research laboratory and are encouraged to apply to Ph.D. programs. Housing, stipend and travel allowance provided.

Weill Medical College of Cornell University – The Travelers Summer Research Fellowship Program for Premedical Students
6-week program designed to give 25 premedical students deeper insights into the field of medicine, including issues that greatly affect the health of traditionally underserved groups. Through the experiences of laboratory or clinical research, the student learns how one pursues a specific research problem under the supervision of a faculty member, thus providing an early education into basic research techniques that could be applicable to any area of medicine. Housing and stipend provided.

Parkinson’s Disease Foundation – Fellowship training program
10-week summer program used to support undergraduates in the pursuit of Parkinson’s-related summer research project. Stipend provided.

Cornell University Graduate School – REU Program in Observation Astronomy
10-week program for students to work directly with Cornell faculty and research staff on projects that cover a wide range of disciplines in radio, infrared and radar astronomy, and related theoretical topics. Housing, stipend, and travel allowance provided.
