New York University School of Medicine – Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP)

Students conduct research and are exposed to the excitement of an academic medical environment at a major research center. Students may work with faculty of their chosing in the disciplines of biochemistry, bio-informatics, biomedical imaging, cellular and molecular biology, clinical investigation, computational biology, developmental genetics, forensic pathology, immunology, microbiology, molecular oncology, neuroscience and physiology, parasitology, pharmacology, structural biology and virology. Stipend, travel, and housing provided.

Gerstner Sloan-Kettering Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences – Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP)

Ten-week research program designed for undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in biomedical sciences. In addition to the research, students attend a weekly seminar series which consists of scientific presentations by our faculty, career panels, and other topics such as research ethics. The students also have the opportunity to attend several professional development workshops such as Interview Skills, Presentation Skills, etc.  Stipend and housing provided.

Rensselaer University – Research Experience for Undergraduates in Physics at Rensselaer
The objective is to actively involve undergraduates in the participation of ongoing Frontier Physics research by matching them up with experienced faculty for 10 weeks. Stipend, travel, and housing provided.

Stony Brook University – AGEP (Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate)
8-week program designed to provide a wide range of services to underrepresented minority doctoral students in the STEM fields as well as to the STEM departments and graduate programs.

Stony Brook University – REU Physics & Astronomy Program
8-week program for qualified undergraduate physics and/or astronomy majors. The program gives students an intensive research experience with leading researchers in the field. Housing, stipend and travel allowance provided.

Stony Brook University – Undergraduate Research Fellowships at the Marine Sciences Research Center
8-week program that provides ‘hands-on’ experience in the field with small boats and sampling gear and in the laboratory with state-of-the-art analytical instruments and techniques. Students present results in a final program. Housing, stipend, and travel allowance provided.

University of Rochester Medical Center – Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)
8-week program designed to enhance the competitiveness of undergraduate students interested in medicine, research, and science who belong to groups historically underrepresented within these areas. The program is designed to strengthen students’ science and research skills and expose them to biomedical research and clinical medicine. Stipend and housing provided.

Rockefeller University – Rockefeller University Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program
10-week summer program in a Rockefeller University laboratory. This program provides a unique opportunity for undergraduates to conduct laboratory research. SURF students work with leading scientists in a broad range of areas including biochemistry; structural biology and chemistry; molecular, cell and developmental biology; immunology; virology and microbiology; neuroscience; physics; and mathematical biology. Stipend and housing provided.

Albert Einstein College of Yeshiva University – Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP)
9-week summer program for students to work in a laboratory in the area of interest they indicate on their application. At the end of the program, students present their research in a poster session. Housing, stipend, and travel allowance provided.

Cold Springs Harbor Laboratory – Undergraduate Research Program
Students work with laboratory staff on independent research projects in the mentor’s field of experitise—specifically in the areas of Cancer Biology, Neurobiology, Plant Biology, cell Biology, Genetics, Molecular and Structural Biology, or Computational Biology. Participants are encouraged to attend advanced postdoctoral courses, organized by leading scientists. Travel, housing, and stipend provided.
