Georgia Institute of Technology – Summer Undergraduate Research in Engineering/Science
10-week summer research program designed to attract qualified minority students into graduate school in the fields of engineering and science. Approximately thirty students of at least junior-level undergraduate standing are recruited on a nationwide basis and paired with both a faculty and a graduate student mentor to undertake research projects in the College of Engineering, College of Sciences, and the Packaging Research Center. University of Colorado at Boulder – Summer Multicultural Access to Research training (SMART)
Students conduct individual research projects in all areas of Science, Math, and Engineering. With their faculty mentors, students design, carry out, and formally present research projects in their area of interest. SMART interns earn three hours of upper division undergraduate credit in independent study by carrying out their projects and participating in workshops designed to enhance their research experience and strengthen their preparation for graduate school. 8-week summer program for juniors, seniors, and recent graduates interested in research in the sciences, engineering or math. To qualify, a participant must be ethnically underrepresented. Students participate in mentored research experiences, a GRE preparation course, graduate school preparation workshops, and scientific lectures on current research in science, engineering, and math.
