8-week program that offers undergraduates the opportunity to work on mathematical research problems with two faculty members. There is strong emphasis on developing students as “complete” mathematicians, capable of making and proving mathematical conjectures, developing algorithms, and communicating results to others, both orally and in writing. Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago – Summer Internship in Neural Engineering (SINE)
A summer internship in Neural Engineering allows college students to work in an innovative, progressive, fast paced scientific environment where they are exposed to valuable techniques in Experimental and Theoretical Neuroscience, advances in Computer Science, New Theories in Mathematics and Mechanical, Electrical and Biomedical Engineering applications. 10-week summer research program designed to attract qualified minority students into graduate school in the fields of engineering and science. Approximately thirty students of at least junior-level undergraduate standing are recruited on a nationwide basis and paired with both a faculty and a graduate student mentor to undertake research projects in the College of Engineering, College of Sciences, and the Packaging Research Center. University of Colorado at Boulder – Summer Multicultural Access to Research training (SMART)
Students conduct individual research projects in all areas of Science, Math, and Engineering. With their faculty mentors, students design, carry out, and formally present research projects in their area of interest. SMART interns earn three hours of upper division undergraduate credit in independent study by carrying out their projects and participating in workshops designed to enhance their research experience and strengthen their preparation for graduate school.
