Boston University undergraduate researchers
gain valuable experience when they work together with faculty on research
projects. In preparation students learn to write project proposals with
faculty guidance and then submit them to compete for UROP awards. Award
recipients are posted here every term. Participants in externally
funded undergraduate research programs across the university are also
listed here.
Every fall UROP summer award recipients present a poster
and the results of their summer projects during Parents Weekend at the
Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium.
UROP student abstracts are published electronically and distributed at
the event. Symposium photo albums showcase the students's work.
Select undergraduates become co-authors on scientifice papers
in prestigious journals. UROP is proud to publicize these accomplishments
in the Published UROPers
section.
Since its inception UROP has assisted more than 40 students
to participate in professional conferences, such as the National Meeting
of the American Chemical Society, which features an undergraduate poster
session. UROP has sent student to the Council on Undergraduate Research's
Posters on the Hill conference, where students present their research
findings to congressmen and house representatives. All conference
participants appear here.
