We are conducting research to understand bloggers’ use of secret-sharing to build their audiences and increase their influence. Students would be involved in a review of the psychological literature on secret sharing. Students would also collect data via observation of specific blogs to see how and when certain types of bloggers are disclosing personal information. This project could be done as a directed study for course credit, or funding may be available. Students would be expected to commit approximately 10 hours per week to this project for six-eight weeks. The student would also meet weekly with the research team for about 2 hours.
