At the BUimaging Science Group ( we study processes in the Earth’s upper atmosphere that affect the propagation of radio waves The student will be involved in the analysis of optical observations from instruments distributed worldwide. These observations provide information on perturbations occurring in the atmosphere at around 300 km. Additional data from satellites and ground-based Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers will also be analyzed to provide complementary information. The student should have some programming (preferably knowledge of IDL) and analytical skills. Interested applicants should provide a CV.
