Opportunity for a computer science or computer/electrical engineering undergraduate to do high-impact security, cryptography, or networking research. We (the BU Security Group) design and develop new cryptographic protocols, and design network security solutions that can help prevent attacks on the Internet, or lead preserve the freedom and openess of the global Internet.

Students interested in working with us should have taken course in at least one of the following: networking, cryptography, or network security OR have experience with capture-the-flag competitions, and have good programming abilities. Our prior UROPs have published and presented work at top tier security, crypto, and networking conferences.

Projects include analyzing how traffic on the global Internet have changed as a result of the NSA revelations, building implementations of new cryptographic protocols, and analyzing network data to understand how we can built a free and open Internet.
