Buston – Biology
Options: Volunteer Basis, Independent Funding Available, Potential for UROP Funding, Potential for Work-Study Funding, Potential for Academic Credit
The Buston Lab seeks one sophomore for the spring semester of 2014 and beyond. In the first year, the position will involve learning to maintain large saltwater aquarium systems and care for saltwater aquarium fish. Looking beyond the first year, there may be an opportunity to participate in research in the lab and qualified students may go on to develop an honors thesis. Projects currently being conducted by our undergraduates include an investigation of swimming capabilities in larval gobies and an investigation of the mutualistic relationship between clownfish and their host sea anemones. See http://people.bu.edu/buston/ for more information on the lab and our research. Sophomore Biology and Marine Science majors, interested in animal behavior, population ecology and marine biology, are encouraged to apply. Please send a short statement explaining why you are interested in working in the lab, along with a CV and copy of your transcript.
