Mehren – Journalism/Global Health/Public Relations
Options: Volunteer Basis, Potential for UROP Funding
The Boston University Program on Crisis Response and Reporting is an innovative, cross-disciplinary collaboration between the College of Communication and the School of Public Health/Center for Global Health and Development. In addition, we partner with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting in Washington, D.C. To date, we have sent students to Nepal, Haiti, Myanmar and Malawi. In addition, we used funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to launch a project in western Kenya through which BU students and students from two Kenyan universities reported on how foreign aid works, from the point of view of the recipients (www.pamojatogether.com). We are seeking a UROP student to help with research, public relations and media outreach as we seek to broaden the scope of our work.
