Previato – Mathematics/Statistics

Options: Potential for UROP Funding

I would be excited to work with students on projects in any of the following areas:
Mathematics Models for Sustainability
Dynamics/Differential Equations
Coding Theory and Cryptography or Graph Theory and Combinatorics
Random Matrices
(Tropical) Algebraic Geometry.

My research involves a combination of algebra and (algebraic or differential) geometry.
Regrettably I do not have funding at the moment: I would collaborate in the design of valuable student projects to apply for UROP funding.

I do not need student assistants in my own work, I simply love showing research to students and seeing them actively involved, getting results and writing papers, going to national meetings like MathFest www.maa.org/mathfest and giving presentations. I am the advisor of the BU (Student Organization and) Student Chapter of the Mathematical Association of America and will be glad to assist you if you are interested in joining.
