Abrams – Physical Chemistry
Options: Volunteer Basis, Potential for Academic Credit
A research position is available in the Abrams Group in the Department of Chemistry starting in Fall 2013 to study the structure and binding of polysaccharides to bacterial cellulases. A reference relevant to this project is Science 330, 219 (2010).
Applicants should have a solid background in (a) introductory chemistry; (b) introductory physics, preferably calculus-based; and (4) comfort in, or interest in, working with computers and an interest in coding.
The ideal applicant would be willing to commit to one year or more of research. Hours are negotiable, but hours should not be less than six to eight per week (to start).
