The Neuromorphics Lab (nl.bu.edu) studies biological intelligence and embeds the derived fundamental principles in computational models of perception, motivation, decision making, navigation, and motor control, and bio-inspired robots and processors. The lab has several projects that involve the design and testing of neural algorithms in virtual and robotic environments. This project will involve implementing navigation and vision algorithms in a mobile robot in the context of a NASA project. See http://nl.bu.edu/news-and-events/news/motion-estimation-in-a-mars-virtual-environment/ for examples of implementation in our Mars-like virtual environment.
