How do firms and industry associations in the European Union decide whether they want to fight for or against regulation at the EU-level?
This research project aims to clarify how we think about the EU as an actor and how we understand the preferences of economic actors in the European market.
We assume that most economic actors don’t want more regulations, so they wouldn’t want the EU to have more authority over their industry. However, in some cases, firms realize they want the EU to have more authority, and then start lobbying for it.
This research will specifically focus on Intellectual Property Rights, Patents, and Trademarks law and institutions at the EU.

Business analysis, Economics, and/or Political Science background recommended.
