Professor Fromkin, “Great Powers in the Middle East from 1798 to the Present”The seminar focuses on the rivalry between the great powers of Europe in the Middle East, commencing in 1798, and on the resoluation of these conflicts in the First World War and its immediate aftermath. The course concludes with brief reference to the continuing conflicts arising from the peace settlement of 1922 with a special reference to the Suez episode of 1956. |
