Rosemary Casey Toumbas

Rosemary Casey Toumbas specializes in international media systems. She graduated from Smith College with an B.A. in 1988 and received her M.S. degree in International Communication from Boston University in 1991. As a broadcast journalist in Boston, and later in Thessaloniki, Greece, Toumbas studied the relationship between the press and national consciousness. This work led to the completion of her Ph.D from the University Professors program at Boston University in 2001. Her dissertation focused on the role of the media in the formation of Greek nationalism during the Macedonian conflict of the1990's. Toumbas continues to work as a journalist in Greece and in the United States.
