James Stergios is the Executive Director of the Pioneer Institute. Before that, he was the Undersecretary for Policy in the Massachusetts Executive Office of Environmental Affairs. Prior his work with the EOEA, he was research director at the Pioneer Institute, where he specialized in regulatory reform, housing, government efficiency, judicial reform and the human services. Stergios has taught Economics at the Rome campus of European University, and later at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan. His experience in the private sector includes consulting and work in Italy and Japan in journalism, and in Italy with comestible exports. He has published articles and editorials in the Providence Journal , the Japan Times , and the Boston Herald. He has authored and co-authored policy studies and articles on a variety of public policy issues including housing, human services, public construction, and education. Stergios graduated summa cum laude with degrees in Economics and Philosophy as well as a doctoral degree in Political Sociology and Cultural History, all from Boston University. |
