IASS fellow Oyeshiku Carr was raised in Kenya and the United States. He attended Wesleyan University and worked as a high school history teacher before beginning his doctorate at Boston University. He is currently writing a dissertation in history on "Re-assessing Nationalism in the African Context." His work focuses on the historical evolution of nationalism in Africa and seeks to understand the relationship between nationalism and Africa's many weak and failed states. He was born in Geneva, Switzerland. |
