Grammy and Tony-Award Winning Jazz Vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater

The BU Arts Initiative presents award winning Jazz vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater with the BU Faculty/Alumni Jazz Combo opening. Dee Dee Bridgewater comes to BU fresh off her Broadway run as Billie Holiday in "Lady Day The Billie Holiday Musical". Bridgewater has received nine Grammy Award nominations and three wins: Best Jazz Vocal Album for "Dear Ella," Best Arrangement Accompanying a Vocal for "Cotton Tail" (from "Dear Ella") and the 2011 Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album for "Eleanora Fagan (1915-1959): To Billie With Love From Dee Dee." She won her Tony for her performance as Glinda, the Good Witch, in The Wiz. Bridgewater serves as UN Goodwill Ambassador for the FAO and is host of NPR's nationally syndicated radio program "JazzSet with Dee Dee Bridgewater." This is an ASL Interpreted event. Tickets for the show are free and currently only available for students and the BU community.
