Women Tie Northeastern University In Opener

Freshman Marisa Ryan (Farmington, CT.) in her debut as a collegian captured first place in 18:50 over
Franklin Park's 5000 meter course to lead the women to a tie against cross town rivals, Northeastern
University. Both teams scored 28 points.

At the two mile mark, Jess Iannacci (Lunenburg, MA), our MVP from last year, had developed a twenty
second lead but was misdirected on the course, and had to retrace her steps, costing her the probable win.
Keeping her composure, Jess battled back through the field to finish sixth overall and help her team preserve
the hard fought win. Freshman Abbey Sadowski (Griswold, CT.) was the second Terrier across the line,
finishing in fourth place with a 19:19 clocking. Julia Nazzer (Wanganuii, New Zealand) and Dina Mijuskovic
(Split, Croatia) finished ninth and tenth to finish out the team scoring for the Terriers.
