The jumping facility is a wood runway with a Recortan surface and ONLY 1/4"
spikes will be allowed. The throwing circle is CONCRETE and the landing
area is wood with a Martin Versaturf surface, thus only the M-F "soft" weight and
"plastic" shots will be allowed.
Selection of Entries:
The St. Valentine Invitational is an
Invitational level meet that is limited to college teams and clubs and
unattached athletes. This meet is NOT an all-comer meet and acceptances to the
meet is at the discretion of meet management. This meet is primarily geared
to accepting Division II and Division III teams, but will also be open to
Division I schools.
Goals:
It is the goal of St. Valentine Invitational to put
on an exciting track meet that is efficiently run, fun to watch and provides an
excellent environment for athletes to perform at their best.
Parking: Parking is at a premium at Boston
University. The best place to find a free parking spot is at the Boston
University Parking Lot located where the Mass Pike passes under Commonwealth
Avenue. There are two parking lots on either side of that intersection
(right side going in towards Boston Center). This location is just one
half mile from the facility and is excellent for Vans and Busses. Athletes
may be dropped off in front of the Track Center, but do not have busses or vans
go up on the sidewalk or park along Ashford Street (street that goes in front of
facility). Most importantly, DO NOT park in the Shaw's parking lot across
the street. They WILL tow your car and it will cost you over $100 and lots
of time to get your car back again. There may be limited parking in the Boston
University lot diagonally across from the facility, depending on whether there
is a hockey or basketball game.
Thank you very much for your continued support and understanding.
