"Hirsch Rounds" were infamous. The Emergency Medicine and Surgical Departments would hold trauma rounds to go over cases. Dr. Hirsch always sat in the front and would make the presenter explain and defend every aspect of the patient's care. His knowledge was immense and he had a tough love approach to pass that knowledge on. Doubtless there are thousands of doctors today that are better off having been taught by this giant on medicine.
