I brought my son, who is 14, to this event because he’s a big Forest Whitaker fan and it was a great great way to commemorate Martin Luther King Day. My son was extremely disappointed, as I was, that this event, which was scheduled to begin at 4 pm, didn’t begin until 4:45–with no apology and no explanation provided when it did finally commence. We had another event to go to so we had to leave at 5:15, before Forest Whitaker began his talk. As my son said, “If the teacher doesn’t show up at Brookline High (where he attends) within 15 minutes, we’re told to go do something else.” The event was billed as a discussion of leadership. Leaders don’t show up 45-minutes late. Can you find out who was responsible for this delay. I heard Forest Whitaker was in the GSU several hours beforehand, so it wasn’t a case of arrogant movie star, as most of the people who waited with us probably surmised. Thank you for you help in advance. — Professor Sam Kauffmann, COM

I mean dude that’s just kind of how events like this work…if you go see a band that is supposed to play at 8, don’t expect them to get on stage til 8:45 or so. Same goes for speakers.
