Pristine, lustrous, futuristic — not to mention colossal. BU’s Student Village II is the newest addition to the Boston skyline. With finishing touches being applied right now, StuVi2 (as everyone calls the new high-rise towers) will open for fall semester. At 26 stories, it’s half the height of the Prudential Center Tower, and that’s just one of the intriguing pieces of info about it.

Here’s a rundown, by the numbers:

Number of pieces of structural steel: 9,273 (3,712 tons)
Number of cubic yards of concrete: 7,000
Number of elevators: 5
Number of square feet of carpet: 342,173
Number of residents: 975
Number of toilets: 288
Number of smoke detectors: 2,500
Time since initial planning process: 3½ years
Number of jobs created: 670
Approximate number of hours worked on site: 600,000
