Amy Sutherland is the author of three books, including What Shamu Taught Me About Life Love and Marriage, which was based on her popular column for the New York Times. She has written for a wide range of publications including Smithsonian magazine, Women’s Health and the Boston Globe. She earned a master’s in journalism at Northwestern University. When not writing and reporting, she often can be found walking dogs, her own or those at the Animal Rescue League in Boston’s South End.
