    1. The graduate school applications are not due yet for many programs — some are due in december but many have application deadlines in late january to mid february

    1. Native Americans make up 0.9% of the population in the United States. It’s gonna be hard for any institution, especially far removed from where the NA populations are concentrated, to recruit students from. Especially a group that already faces many socioeconomic and other challenges.

  1. I am a CAS graduate. My son’s dream was BU and he wanted to do Early Decision but we opted not to because of the financially binding aspect. He has a 3.7, SATs 1280, Eagle Scout, Asst. Scoutmaster, 3 sports/year, show choir, leadership in all those (captain and president for 2 years), volunteers regularly, Amnesty International, and attended the International Youth UN Conference last summer. He found out he was rejected from BU on Saturday and I have never been more disappointed in my alma mater. I understand the increase in applications but my son’s resume speaks volumes about his character and self-motivation. It concerns me that BU is more motivated by numbers than the character of the students they are accepting on campus.
