Free Yoga at the Boston Common Frog Pond Tonight
Exercise your body and mind at no cost at different places, times
Looking for a way to stretch your body but not your wallet? Visit the Frog Pond in the Boston Common tonight from 6 to 7:15 p.m. for Free Summer Yoga at Frog Pond, a free power vinyasa yoga class led by certified instructors.
Yogis gather weekly on Thursday nights to downward dog, chaturanga, and take a moment of zen in a guided practice in the oldest park in the United States. Classes run through September 1 and are open to people of all levels and abilities. It’s a free and challenging way to unwind while building strength and flexibility in one of Boston’s attractive green spaces.
Weather-related cancellations are posted by 4:30 p.m. the day of class on the Frog Pond’s Twitter and Facebook pages.

If Thursday nights don’t work with your schedule, don’t worry. During the summer months, free or pay-what-you-can yoga classes are offered at different times and locations throughout the city. Sunset Yoga is a part of the Esplanade Association’s Healthy, Fit and Fun Series; people of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in free fitness classes (also offered: zumba, crossfit, and a running club) on the Esplanade. Down Under School of Yoga is in South Campus, a quick walk from St. Mary’s Bridge As well as the community yoga class (suggested donation of $5 to $10), Down Under offers paid yoga classes for practitioners of all levels. Magazine Beach, almost directly across the BU Bridge, is a convenient spot for those seeking a morning practice. In addition to free yoga, the beach has a free public pool and will host free educational and music programs throughout the summer. Yoga is canceled in the event of inclement weather, but check Twitter for up-to-date information. Cross the BU Bridge and walk left to Magazine Beach.
