  1. Sorry, but most home cooks are not going to cook a steak for an hour to get it ‘right’ by the 2 ‘correct’ methods described here. I find that a quick sear on both sides in the 400 degree range, followed by reducing the heat to finish it off, has worked well for us.
    Now BBQ and smoking are a completely different story!

    Y’know, it would have made a lot more sense to just advise the restaurants to educate their diners about “smoke rings” by mentioning it on the menu. And the question was about DEBUNKING MYTHS. You’re not debunking anything by getting rid of the smoke ring, you’re actually doing the exact opposite. You’re pandering to those who believe the myth that if it’s pink it’s raw.

    Not anybody can grill. It is all about experience and what you are using to grill. Gas, pellet grill, charcoal, or whatever will have a different taste on the food. And yea I agree with Goldwyn that grilling is a science.

  4. Well, I would agree that grilling is an art and it worth studying. Everything matters and everything has a certain impact on the result you’ll get. In my opinion choosing the right grill is the most important thing! I searched a lot to find a good information on how to choose the best option.
