  2. “These are extraordinarily interesting, talented students,”

For all that I complain about the raw deal my micro-generation got (I graduated from BU in 2007, right into the brewing storm of recession), I am ever so thankful to have been able to attend the university at time when 17 year old applicants didn’t have to be “extraordinarily talented or interesting” in order to get a good education.

    1. You are so right. Nowadays, to get into college, it isn’t enough to be just smart or earn high grades, you must have researched on something, invented something, blah blah blah. And the worst part is that many teenagers get involved in extra-curriculars because of college admissions.
