There are 5 comments on Signing for Obama

  1. Dear Chris, what a wonderful honor for a most wonderful person who happens to be fluent in ASL and an ASL signer! It is fitting that the organizers assembled African American interpreters to translate Pres. Obama’s story for the opening of the museum. I look forward to my own visit and experience. This moment of your history will stay with you for a lifetime, and be a super story to pass on. Congratulations, and thank you!

  2. Chris, you represent a group that for years has been underrepresented. The mere fact that you have been able to break this barrier, shows the magnitude of talented interpreters of color that find themselves faced with challenges that prevent us from doing events of this magnitude. I appreciate the insight and thoughtfulness of Balzarini who knew you were one of the interpreters that could faithfully render the message clear and with cultural competence! Congratulations on this memorable, life-time event!
