  1. There are several things I’ve read here that make me nervous. Further postponement of a retirement plan that is beneath regulatory requirements is irresponsible and greedy. Some of the employees here are relying on BU for their retirement which I’m sure excludes those that are working in the upper echelon. The reduction of plans, specifically concentrating the HMO plan into the Preferred Provider Plan will place more stress on BU employees that get injured or become ill. It also must be nice to lower a deferred compensation plan open to the individuals making between $180,000 and $200,000. When is BU going to take care of it’s lower class employees and quit cutting corners around them. BU nearly induced a strike last year. Truly irresponsible.

  2. As a former BU staffer, you always learn to fear the worst when you hear about “Changes” to compensation. Because it always ends up worse. Your health plan cost would go up a few percent, and HR would tell you that counted as your raise for the year since it was an increase in value of your “total compensation package” even though the new paychecks were a little bit lower.

    I’m glad I had the chance to leave BU for a company where decisions about salary and benefits are actually made for the benefits of the staff and not by some guy whose main worry is whether he’s going to make 1.0 or 1.1 million bucks a year.
