  1. What we need to be doing is having an international response to Fukushima. This is a drawn out, catastrophic nuclear event that continues to escalate. According to RSOE EDIS – Emergency and Disaster Information Service, there are leaks almost every month at the site. The water containers that are holding the radioactive cooling water from the 4 damaged reactors, continue to leak due to chemical reactions with the material used to build the containers, and the poor, quick construction of the containers.

There are also numerous leaks under the buildings into the wells that are located under the site. Some of that radioactive water stays on site, alot goes into the sea, and it has reached the Cali coast.

There also have been reports of building 4 sinking into the mud under it. Currently, Tepco is removing the control rods via crane in building 4. They have around 1500 rods to remove with out any of them touching each other. If any touch, a release of tritium could happen. The removal process will last till Nov.

We need an international team or more over sight of Tepco. I believe this has spiraled out of Tepco’s control. 3 years and its still leaking.
