    Rich Barlow is a senior writer at BU Today and Bostonia magazine. Perhaps the only native of Trenton, N.J., who will volunteer his birthplace without police interrogation, he graduated from Dartmouth College, spent 20 years as a small-town newspaper reporter, and is a former Boston Globe religion columnist, book reviewer, and occasional op-ed contributor.   1. The Governor’s speech was fantastic! It hit al the right notes. It was funny. It was poignant. It had a wonderful message. It was inspiring. It was appropriate. It was the perfect length. It was delivered with delight and received the same way. It was all about the graduates and not about him. It was just the flavor. It was fantastic!!

  2. It was a good speach, except his example of an open ended conversation, was not a good one. His example was of a fact based conversation, for which there is only one answer which he and the officer might have never reached. He should inform all his aids, that when he is talking to the officer, they should not consult their smart phone until asked.
