Brookline Student Found

Search is over for the son of Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby (LAW’83)

Update: Caleb Jacoby was found safe in New York City on Thursday evening, Brookline Police reported.

The teenage son of Boston Globe columnist and BU alum Jeff Jacoby (LAW’83) is missing, and Brookline police are asking for the public’s help in finding him.

Caleb Jacoby, 16, was last seen leaving his Brookline, Mass., home on Monday, January 6, at 12:30 p.m. He is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with a thin build and light brown hair. He was wearing navy chino pants or jeans, a navy polo shirt, a brown winter jacket with a hood, and brown shoes or sneakers. Caleb is an 11th grader at Maimonides School in Brookline, and is often seen in libraries and at Temple Young Israel on Green Street in Brookline, according to a police flyer.

On Wednesday, Jeff Jacoby wrote on his Twitter account, “We are so deeply, deeply grateful for everything being done to reunite us with our beloved son Caleb.”

Brookline Police say the investigation remains “active and ongoing.” The department asks that anyone with information call 617-730-2222 or Detective Kenneth McHugh at 617-730-2710.
