There are 17 comments on Summer Construction on the Charles River Campus

  1. “Flynn says that a few projects are currently in the planning stages for the Medical Campus.” Oh, how wonderful! Glad you haven’t forgotten us…

  2. Upgrades are great – when is this educational institution going to do any upgrades to SED? I hear it is in horrible shape! Future teachers last on your list?

    1. They prefer to coddle the groups who will be able to make sizeable donations in the future. Teachers can’t afford to give when they barely make anything.

  3. Just a reminder that the campus is not empty in the summer. There are more than 7000 students here attending Summer Term. Cooperation and accommodation among many different parts of the University have enabled both activities to take place at the same time.

  4. Thanks for the update on campus construction. As an alumni, I really like hearing about changes to campus.

On a side note, it would be great to see a rennovation of CAS. Pretty much every undergrad, regardless of college, takes classes in that building (and a lot of grad students). I think an interior rennovation would make a big difference for students. Probably the oddest thing about that building are the unoccupied lockers on higher floors.
Lockers are appropriate for of a high school… not a major research university

  5. I second the update. Love to see what’s going on back at BU.

It does seem that CAS needs the biggest upgrade. SMG is already pretty updated (S, I’m gonna bet Kendal was being sarcastic) and I think the university needs to pay more attention on updating what hasn’t been touched in a while. A window project for CAS. That’s it? Gut it all.

What about COM? The building should match the technology of the field.

Updating StuVi furniture? Come on. All of South campus needs a major update.

  6. I’m so surprised (although not really considering renovations are probably done based on donations) that COM/CAS/SED aren’t getting more upgrades! It seems silly that buildings that haven’t been updated yet are getting passed over while SMG still looks brand new but yet is getting renovated.

And what about South? I sincerely doubt that all the chairs in Stuvi 1 need updating when some apartments in South Campus look like they’re falling down on the inside.

But props to BU to keep updating-I definitely know Myles needs it.

  7. Sheesh, you know you’re on a BU message board when all (or most) of the comments are negative toward BU. I just don’t get it. This school has spent millions trying to improve the student experience and yet there’s still so much grumbling and whining. If only there was a way to screen out spoiled brats in the application process.
