  1. Just received word that the Study Abroad Expo, which was scheduled for tomorrow, Feb. 8, has been postponed. BU Today will have information when the new date and time for the Expo is announced.

  2. WBUR’s event featuring Bob Oakes, host of Morning Edition, and This American Life contributor Mike Birbiglia, has been rescheduled for March 8. Check wbur.org for more information.

  3. POSTPONED! Due to the winter storm forecasted for the Boston area on Friday and Saturday, BU Law is postponing the conference, “The Next Season: Realigning International Law and Western Policy After the Arab Spring.” We hope to announce a rescheduled conference date shortly.

  4. The BU women’s ice hockey game against UNH originally scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed until Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7 pm at Walter Brown Arena. Also, the BU men’s tennis match at Dartmouth this Friday and the women’s tennis match against Buffalo this Sunday at the Track and Tennis Center have been canceled. Finally, the Valentine Track Invitational that was scheduled for this Friday and Saturday at the Track and Tennis Center has been canceled.

  5. FitRec will be open Friday 6 am to noon for informal recreation only. All classes, programs and events on Friday and Saturday are canceled. Any additional updates will be posted on bu.edu/fitrec.

  6. Is the shuttle going to run between the campuses since the medical school is open but the main campus isn’t? I don’t want to have to figure out how the buses work in a blizzard.

  7. Can anyone say if the LSAT at BU is cancelled? BU isn’t listed as one of the testing centers closed on the LSAC website, but if the university is closed Saturday, shouldn’t the LSAT be postponed as well?

  8. The IT Help Center will be open on Friday at Mugar from 8am to Noon, staying closed through Saturday, and reopening on Sunday morning at 10am. The Kenmore Square location will be closed.

  9. The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering Seminar with Dr. Michele Ortolani scheduled for Friday in the Photonics Center has been canceled.

  10. The Boston University Shuttle (BUS) service will be suspended at 2:00 p.m. today (Friday, Feburary 8th). The Late Night BUS service scheduled for tonight and tomorrow (Saturday) has been cancelled.

  11. The Agganis Arena Garage, the Warren Towers Garage and the 808 Commonwealth Garage will remain open (24-hours) today, Friday, February 8th to accommodate Boston University’s parking permit holders who must find off-street parking. These three parking facilities will remain open until any City of Boston storm-related street parking bans end.

  12. The George Sherman Union (GSU) will be open Friday until 6pm. This includes the Union Court (food court) and City Convenience. If you have any questions, please call Activities Information at 617-353-5498.

    In addition, the Dean of Students office in the GSU is open until 5pm. You may contact them with questions by calling 617-353-4126 or emailing dos@bu.edu.

  13. So whats the status about dining services? If the T is stopping at 330 and Patrick is ordering all vehicles off by 4pm, how are the non-student workers getting home if there still listing regular dining hall hours?

    1. Non-essential dining employees will leave campus by 3:00 PM today. Student workers will help cover some of these duties.

      Essential employees will be provided transportation to their home or a nearby hotel after their shift and back to campus for their next shift.

      For those essential food service employees who are comfortable driving their own vehicle in these conditions, they are one of the few exceptions to the travel ban.

  14. Due to the weather and the University being closed, tomorrow (Saturday February 9) night’s 7:30pm
    performance of the Acting Majors Thesis in the School of Theatre has been cancelled.

    However even a blizzard named Nemo can’t keep these five seniors from sharing their work with you –
    on Sunday February 10 there will be TWO performances! The first will be at 2:00pm and the second will
    be the normal 7:30pm.

  15. Tonight, Hall Councils (RHA) across campus will be organizing some informal events for the large halls (i.e., board games, TV watching, snacks, movies, etc…). Since you might be shut-in anyway, please come by and enjoy the company.

  16. FitRec will be open for informal recreation at 10 am to normal closing Sunday, Feb 10. The following programs will run as scheduled: intramurals, Club practices occurring in FitRec, and EMS Clinic. All other lessons, classes and programs are canceled for Sunday.
