  1. Yikes. I’m moving in on Wednesday and I really hope the Go Boston Shuttle I’m taking from the airport will be allowed down Bay State Road to drop me in front of Shelton.

  2. I’m moving in on Wednesday to Warren Towers, but I’m coming from the Logan airport through the taxi. Do I also have to go to the garage to be dropped off with my luggage? or can I be dropped off at the front?

    1. Check with the Res. Life office. There are three elevators that drop to the garage, allowing for easy access to the 4th floor where you check in. There’s only one elevator on the first floor in the main entry of Warren, but two huge escalators. If you can manage escalators you’ll be okay, but sometimes the garage route is easier, and less walking with bags for you. Good Luck!

  3. Sarah:

Vehicles are not permitted to stop in front of Warren Towers. You will be directed by a Police Officer to appropriate drop-off points, either in front of the School of Communication or the Cummington Mall.

If you have a lot of luggage your taxi will be allowed to enter the garage, off-load your luggage on the third floor and take the elevators to the fourth floor for check-in.

We look forward to your arrival.

  4. Can you guys update us on what the BU Shuttle will be doing during move in? I almost missed it this morning because I didn’t know it wasn’t picking up in front of Stuvi this week. Thanks!

    1. The stop has been moved temporarily to assist with the flow of move-in on Harry Agganis Way. There is a sign where the stop would normally be which alerts patrons that the stop has moved to Sullivan Tire (on the other side of Commonwealth Ave). The BUS will drop passengers off at the corner of Commonwealth Ave and Harry Agganis Way, however the students must board from the temporary stop in front of Sullivan Tire (which is also signed accordingly).

  5. Hi! I am moving into Rich Hall on Saturday morning- I have quite a bit of stuff (approx. 6 suitcases, 5 boxes and a few other miscellaneous things). Will there be a system to help us move things from the NBF garage up into the rooms or is it expected of my parents and I to carry everything over and up? Thanks! -H

    1. Hannah:

We look forward to your arrival!

As you mentioned correctly – if you are moving into Rich Hall, you need to park your vehicle in the New Balance parking garage. There will be a police officer directing traffic appropriately.

You should proceed to Rich Hall with an ID to get your room keys and cart. During official move-in weekend (Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1) we do have the Scarlet Squad (student volunteers) assisting with move-in. However it is your responsibility to move personal belongings to your room.

    1. You can off load your luggage in front of 1019 as there is metered parking on Commonwealth Avenue.

Once you have off loaded all belongings, your vehicle can be parked at any of the BU parking lots for no charge (during move-in week). The closest parking garage is the New Balance parking garage on Babcock Street.

Carts are available for move-in at 1019 Commonwealth Avenue.

      Regards,
      Nishmin

    1. Marjory:

As you approach South Campus we have Police Officers directing traffic.

Check-in for South Campus is at 522 Park Drive. All BU parking lots are free during move-in week.

I recommend that after unloading your belongings, you can park your vehicle at the 808 Commonwealth Avenue parking lot.

      Nishmin

  6. We are moving our son into Warren Towers on Saturday.

    1. do we access Warren Towers Garage by traveling on Commonwealth Avenue or is there another route?
    2. will we be directed where to pick up room key/moving cart?

    thanks!

    1. Tina:

The entrance to the Warren Towers garage is on Hinsdale Mall, which can be accessed if you are traveling East bound on Commonwealth Avenue.

You will be directed to the third floor of the garage where you can off load your belongings. Check-in to receive your key and a cart is on the fourth floor.

      Regards,
      Nishmin

  7. Uh oh,
I’m arriving on Sunday but I just realized that my flight arrives at 9.40pm (it’s an international flight and was booked months in advance). Does that mean I won’t be able to check in when I reach the dorm around 11ish?

    1. If you arrive after the published check-in hours you will need to call the Resident Assistant (RA) on call to begin the check-in process.
The RA on call schedule will be posted at the entrance of your residence.

      Regards,
      Nishmin

  8. I am a parent of a BU sophomore who moved my daughter in this weekend. Kudos to the BU housing staff, BU police, RA’s for a smooth move in. Job well done!
