Beatles Art Show and Sale Today

Event at Barnes & Noble at BU

Didn’t manage to score a ticket to Paul McCartney’s Out There concert tonight at Fenway? If you’re a Beatles fan, you’re in luck. Barnes & Noble at BU is hosting a Beatles Art Show and Sale that’s a must for any fan of the Fab Four.

More than 100 pieces of artwork are on display, including lithographs and animation cells from the Beatles’ iconic Yellow Submarine movie, signed photographs by Linda McCartney, drawings of the band by famed caricaturist Al Hirschfeld, artwork by original Beatles bassist Stuart Sutcliffe, and cartoons by Ron Campbell, who was an animator for Yellow Submarine and the ABC Saturday morning cartoon series The Beatles. Campbell will be in attendance.

While the exhibition is free and open to the public, collectors will be happy to learn that the work is for sale. But be prepared to spend some serious cash—a signed Ringo drumhead will run you $1,250, a set of framed 1964 concert tickets is $225, and a large matted photograph of McCartney in a towel is $595. The event is sponsored by local radio station 100.7 WZLX.

The Beatles Art Show and Sale is today, Tuesday, July 9, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., at Barnes & Noble at BU, 660 Beacon St., Boston, second floor. Find more information here.
