A Joyful Noise: Marsh Chapel Choir

Lessons and Carols service: music that touches the soul

For many BU students, singing provides a unique opportunity to explore issues of cultural and religious identity on a deeper level. To celebrate the holiday season, BU Today recorded four groups on campus known for performing spiritual music or music relating to their heritage. We asked students in the groups to talk about the ways music enhances their lives and expresses their faith.

Today’s video features music by the Marsh Chapel Choir, rehearsing for Marsh Chapel’s annual University Service of Lessons and Carols. Last week, on December 13, 2013, Marsh Chapel marked its 40th anniversary Lessons and Carols service.

Today and for the past three days, BU Today has brought you videos featuring University musical groups performing and talking about the ways music enhances both their sense of identity and their spirituality.
