BostonTweet on Getting to Know Boston
Dean Elmore moderates discussion at 2 p.m.
Who better to give a crash course on the city of Boston than the person behind the smartphone at BostonTweet, which tweets out food and entertainment deals, news, and contests to more than 37,000 followers.
Tom O’Keefe, the social media expert behind the tweets, will sit down today with Kenneth Elmore (SED’87), BU’s dean of students, at the George Sherman Union’s Conference Auditorium to chat about what’s going on in Beantown and what every college student needs to know, such as where to find the best coffee and how to shop on a budget.
“I think the best way to explore Boston is to start out on Comm Ave and walk into the city, because exploring on your own is the best way to see what’s out there,” says O’Keefe. “Boston is such a small city, and it has a very strong community. You can walk down the street and see people you know.”
The conversation begins today, September 8, at 2 p.m. Those interested can attend the live event at the GSU, or they can watch in the player below or on Boston University’s UStream page.
