  1. Hi Edward and Amanda –
Great interactive piece on how to do laundry – and a wonderful reminder that cell phones do not belong in the washer. I work with Whirlpool brand and as a recent college grad I understand that many laundry issues can’t be solved without mom or dad.

  2. Use hot water for whites and in that batch, put all clothes that need extra sanitizing–undergarments. I also put in my workout clothes. Then you add some hydrogen peroxide instead of bleach and it whitens them. If putting in colored that need the hot water, wash clothes in that batch that aren’t as important. Colors tend to fade with H2O2.

  3. cold water works just as well with the new detergents and it’s better for the planet!

btw, don’t forget that you can go back to your room and check your laundry online with laundry web (student link/food & shelter/laundry rooms. it tells you when empty machines are available and when your laundry is done.
