  1. “We’ll sing in the sunshine, we’ll laugh every day” Gale Garnett
“Sunshine come on back on another day, I promise you I’ll be singing” Jonathon Edwards
Get your 15 minutes of sunshine, daily stretch and exercise, and laugh and sing every day.

  2. When I drove my convertible to BU (I work here), I drove top down most of the winter and my emotions were fine.

Now that I take public transportation, and don’t get my morning sunshine, things are not as good.

Thanks for reminding me what is going on. I’ll consult with a doctor about taking meds this winter.

  3. ironically, I’ve found the best cure for the winter blues, and the sleepsies is actually less sleep. Sleep earlier and get up earlier. Get up before the sun gets up and start your routine. Then, make yourself go outside and catch the first rays of the day, and breathe in that fresh cold air. You don’t have to stay out for long.

But the most important thing is being awake. There are plenty of advantages to waking up early.

  4. I’m originally from Florida and this is my second year at BU. Winter always gets me in a funk because the sun never shines! According to my doctor, my winter lackadaisicalness is caused by a Vitamin D deficiency from not being exposed to the sun as often. Take some of those Vitamin D supplements and it’ll perk you right up! No need for anti-depressants.
