  1. …how would this work in human. For a human tooth to be viable it needs a blood supply. If the tooth is decayed to the point where a root canal needs to be done where is a blood supply going to come from?

  2. what a waste of time and money fooling around with stupid mice. why dont you make filling that will last a lifetime instead of having to have them replaced all the time.
and work on making affordable dental care for everyone
the only ones who can afford to root canal and crown teeth are the wealth the poor end up with them pulled
work on that one for a while!

  3. Huang makes a very good point — with dental implants coming such a long way in 30-40 years, it’s mind-boggling to imagine how this discovery could develop dentistry in an even shorter span of time.

  4. I hope that we can get this technology into humans soon so that tooth fillings can be grown from the tooth’s existing stem cells and grafted into the tooth’s structure, thus replacing the use of existing and new synthetic tooth fillings.

  5. I completely agree with the comment made in regards to affordable dental care for everyone. It’s a sad world when only the wealthy are privileged enough to have teeth. I don’t think some individuals realize t&e devastating impact that a person goes through by having no other option then to yank out all there teeth. This can cause health issues as well as mental issues. I became maniacally depressed and can barely eat without choking..I won’t go out and barely socialize. I don’t even like to look in the mirror and cry eveverytime I do. So yeah keep working on growing those teeth while the rest of us ( the poor) lose ours!

  6. I’m just 27 years old I lost 1 of my teeth and it’s still fresh can it regrow if yes how long can it take and should I do?

  7. Id like to get in contact with you. Im growing back a wisdom tooth with self medical experimentation and found this when i realized it was happening. I self removed 2 of them due to expensive treatment but now one is growing back after several forms of medicine over several years. Id like to understand why and how so it might help others.
