  1. Rhett, when Boston teams win it all, they go on duckboat rides. It’s a law. Ask Menino yourself, he’ll be there. Next month the Bruins will have their duckboat ride, and in about 25 years the Superfrauds will get their parade too.

  2. Congratulations to the Terriers!!!!!! Well deserved parade. Special moments are meant to be celebrated! This is BU’s trophy and moment to shine!

  3. Hey, I’m waiting to see the live stream but all I have is a black screen. I think we have some serious IT issues here….it’s 12:11 — very disappointing.

  4. Who says this campus doesn’t have spirit??? Thanks to the team for giving us this opportunity and thanks to all of you who showed your BU pride by showing up.

  5. Stop all this silly back and forth fighting about boats and just be happy! You have a nice sunny day up there. It’s cloudy here in New York City. Go BU Men’s Hockey! Congrats. You deserve your happy day in the sun!

  6. Rhett,
You should appreciate that your school has an athletic team that is good enough to win a National title. I’m glad the hockey team made its way down the road via duck boats. It was awesome. Why not do it that way?? It’s not very often that a school is talented enough to even dream of making it to the NCAA tournament, let alone win it all.
    Go big or go home.

  7. Maybe the streaming video did not work for some, but for me it worked just fine. I saw the whole thing with no problem. Did you give it a chance to get going? I finally got it going at around 12:07pm, then it was okay.

  8. The video feed worked but only in certain browsers. It didn’t seem to work at all in firefox 3. Too bad IT wasn’t aware of it. I was able to watch using IE. Oh well. The replay should be available soon. Hopefully that will work in all browsers. Go Terriers!

  9. Thanks for posting this, it was great to feel like I could experience part of the ceremonies, though following the parade route from Kenmore to Marsh first would have been lovely and would have really enhanced this video. Nevertheless, a great opportunity for us all to watch this! Go BU!!!!!!!really enhance

  10. I’ve been a Boston University hockey fan since October of 1985, when I first set foot in Walter Brown arena for a BU-Northeastern game. BU Hockey quickly became the most enjoyable part of my undergrad experience. After graduation, my only way of keeping up with the Terriers was a weekly NY Times sports column on college hockey. Fast forward to 2009 and I have the pleasure of listening to the call of BU hockey on internet radio, seeing my first game at the magnificent new Agganis Arena (it was like seeing my first BU hockey game all over again) and watching the team win a national championship in a packed NYC bar with fellow Terrier fans (all wearing red and white).

I just want to say how thankful I am for the final outcome. This was such a wonderfully exciting season with amazingly talented players, tremedous leadership and a shared sense of mission. Having said that, there have been countless teams in sports history, at the college and pro levels, who have had their dream-season ended in heartbreaking fashion. I’m so thankful to the entire team for bringing this season to such a thrilling, triumphant ending. I am overjoyed, proud and grateful … and just getting my voice back :)

On a final note, I want to say Mazel Tov to Zach Cohen (for beginning) and Colby Cohen (for ending) such a miraculous comeback. April 11th 2009 will go down as the greatest night in Jewish Hockey History (and during Passover no less)!!!

Thanks to the entire team. We will always remember the 2009 season!

  11. I attended the parade. It was the most campussy, school-spiritish thing I’ve witnessed at BU. BU has been a great institution for decades but has been lacking in a sense of school pride. This lack of school pride is much of what holds BU back from being in the very top tier of universities (much like a lack of consumer confidence/spending can hold back an economy)..this parade was a perfect way to encourage school spirit. Great job BU! Keep it up. I’d like to see more rallies and events like this. Dan Morean, CAS ’91, LAW ’94
