The Boston University community will honor the life of Allan Macurdy, the former director of disability services and a visiting associate professor in the School of Law, with a memorial service on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. in the George Sherman Union Small Ballroom.
Macurdy (CAS’84, LAW’86) passed away last June after a courageous and lengthy battle with muscular dystrophy. He was a published scholar in the areas of constitutional law, civil rights, and law and disability. Civically minded, Macurdy was a founding board member of Partners for Youth with Disabilities, a board member of the Franciscan Children’s Hospital, and a past president and board member of the Disability Law Center Boston.
