If the stage is the horizon, the dancers — flickering colors of movement, jumping, gliding, and spinning — are the aurora borealis.

Aurora Borealis 7: A Festival of Light and Dance, codirected by Judith Chaffee, a College of Fine Arts associate professor of theater, and dance coordinator Micki Taylor-Pinney, of the department of physical education, recreation, and dance, showcases the relationship between light and movement through original dance and theater pieces.

Now in its seventh year, the annual performance is a collaboration between the CFA school of theatre and the BU Dance Program.

Aurora Borealis 7 begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, February 27, and Saturday, February 28, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, at the Virginia Wimberly Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts Calderwood Pavilion, 527 Tremont St., Boston. Tickets are $12 for the general public, $10 for BU alumni, students, senior citizens, Huntington Theatre Company subscribers, and WGBH members. Members of the BU community receive one free ticket with BU ID at the door on the day of the performance, subject to availability. For tickets, click here.
