It’sthat time of the year — turkeys are flying (not literally) offsupermarket shelves, South Station and Logan Airport are preparing forthe onslaught, and college-types citywide have started fasting toconserve belly-space for next Thursday’s feast.

Thanksgiving isthe quintessentially American holiday, the one time each year thateveryone makes the pilgrimage home. Which invariably means somethingwill go wrong.

From turkeys catching fire to a travel ordealthat includes hitchhiking in the rain, everyone has a Thanksgivingmoment funny, scary, or embarrassing enough to share. BU Today took to the streets in hopes of capturing some of those memories. We got a lot more than we bargained for.
