There are 4 comments on Kicking the Hormone Habit

  1. I could not agree with Dr. Perls more re: the use of HgH therapy for ‘anti’aging’ purposes or ‘body buiding use’. That should be made illegal and stopped n its tracks. However, Dr. Perls is adamantly against the use of HgH except for the documented use of stunted growth or HIV/AIDS wasting syndrome. There is however, a number of people who have true adult growth hormone deficiency syndrome, and replacement of this hormone is crucial to improving their health and quality of life. I know personaly several people, one with severe status asthmaticus, that has become virtually symptom free with HgH ‘THERAPEUTIC dosage” use, not at the dosages that atheletes and anti aging clinics use. Instead of being so staunchly anti HgH, Dr. Perls should also look at the positive side of true adult HgH deficiency. It is extremely beneficial in a select group of people.

  2. Why is Dr. Perls so worked up over middle-aged men getting HgH for anti-aging. This is Big Brotherism at its worst. Most of these men are highly educated and informed and are making achoice after reading the available literature. Does anybody think that Sylvester Stallone actually worse off than the typical fat-assed American male with high cholestorol and high BP his age because he takes HgH?

The FDA is very destructive force in this country and is the main cause millions of Americans are deprived for years of the right to make their own decision whether to try promising drugs for diseases like Alzheimers for which no currently approved drugs provide a cure.

  3. According to the Mayo Clinic, it also can cause breast tissue enlargement in men. The truth is that there just hasn’t been adequate long term research into using growth hormones for these purposes. It isn’t worth the risk at this point. There are plenty of other natural options for anti aging and body building.
