40-year employee Jerry Wall died on December 12

Gerald A. Wall, former assistant vice president of maintenance and custodial operations at Boston University, died on December 12, 2008, of complications related to his battle with cancer.

Wall was a longtime employee of the University, with a career spanning almost 40 years. He participated in many facility improvements during his tenure, including the ongoing program to update the historic brownstone residences on Bay State Road and the design of Marsh Chapel Plaza.

He is survived by his wife, Diane O’Brien Wall, the director of conference services at Boston University, and three daughters.

Funeral services took place on December 17.
