Lisa Sullivan honored with award for teaching excellence
Lisa Sullivan, a Schoolof Public Health professor and chairof biostatistics and associate dean for education, has won the 2008ASPH/Pfizer Award for Teaching Excellence, a collaboration between the Association of Schools ofPublic Health and Pfizer. The award was presented at the American PublicHealth Association’s annual meeting in San Diego, Calif., on October 25.
The award recognizes graduate public healthfaculty from full ASPH-member accredited schools of public health who arenotable for their teaching excellence. In particular, it supportsfaculty outstanding in teaching and mentoring students towarddistinction in public health research, education, and practice.
“Professor Sullivan’s skill, innovation, dedication, andaccomplishments in a field that is at the very core of public health educationmake her a superb candidate for the ASPH/Pfizer Award for Teaching Excellence,”says Leonard Glantz, an SPH professor and associate dean emeritus of academic affairs, whonominated Sullivan for the award.
