In 1952, BU graduate student Martin Luther King, Jr. (GRS’55, Hon.’59) (bottom right) was initiated into the Sigma chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. Founded in 1906, it is the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity for African-Americans. Photo by Baron Martin
